Superhero - premium desktop advert
Superhero is the grandfather of the latest generation of premium rich-media ad formats. It was developed as a non-standard custom unit to launch Apple's new MacBook Pro computer back in 2008 or 2009.
Due to its unprecedented form-factor and placement (right beneath the site's homepage masthead) its implementation in a typical advertising campaign timeframe was near impossible and all Australian publishers turned down the offer to run it, except Fairfax.
We formed an ad-hoc, dedicated team and seized the opportunity evaluated the challenges and concluded that it can be done. We delivered the campaign (rumours says it, the late Steve Jobs has signed off on the live proof himself) to the client's upmost satisfaction. The rest is history.
